Wales had a whisky tradition before Prohibition-era closures. Penderyn, founded in 2000, revived Welsh whisky production and is the sole commercial Welsh whisky producer. The Faraday still was designed specifically for Penderyn, making it one of the most technologically distinctive distilleries in the world.
