Taiwanese Single Malt
King Car Group founded Kavalan Distillery in 2005 in Yilan County, Taiwan. When Kavalan won Best Single Malt at the International Spirits Challenge 2010, only five years after founding, it proved that whisky quality is independent of latitude and centuries of tradition. The company was named for an indigenous tribe of the Yilan region.
Flavor Profile
Rapid-aged, complex, concentrated. Kavalan Solist (single cask, cask strength): world-class, concentrated, often showing intense fruit and oak. The extreme evaporation rate creates whisky matured far beyond its calendar age in complexity.
