Sierra Negra Mezcal

Sierra Negra is one of the lesser-known Agave americana expressions, grown in remote mountainous terrain that limited commercial harvesting until mezcal's export surge. Still rare in export markets.

Flavor Profile

Dark fruit — blackberry, plum — with chocolate, warm spice, deep brooding smokiness. Tannic structure. 'One of the more wine-like mezcal expressions, with a tannic structure that invites comparison to aged Nebbiolo.' The full-bodied Barolo of the mezcal world. Not for beginners.
