Gingenever
Jonge Genever
Developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as Dutch distillers responded to the rising popularity of lighter spirits (London Dry, vodka predecessors) by creating a gentler, more mixable genever style. The name 'jonge' (young) refers to the style's newer origin, not actual age.
Flavor Profile
Still distinct from London Dry — more body, slight grain character — but smoother and more neutral than Oude Genever. Lighter malt presence, cleaner finish. In the same general neighborhood as London Dry while retaining genever's characteristic grain note.
