Islands Single Malt
The Islands' unofficial regional grouping reflects the geographical reality that Scotland's island distilleries share maritime character despite the legal Highland designation. Highland Park on Orkney — the northernmost Scotch distillery — has produced whisky since 1798.
Flavor Profile
Maritime character (salt, sea spray), pepper, smoke. Not as intensely peated as Islay but with a distinctive coastal character. Highland Park (Orkney) is the most balanced — sweet and smoky in equal measure. Talisker (Skye) is cracked black pepper + salt air + moderate smoke.
