Irish Single Malt

Irish single malt shares heritage with Scotch single malt but developed independently. The Bushmills distillery claims a 1608 license — one of the oldest in the world. The modern Irish single malt category has been revitalized since the 1980s after decades of industry consolidation.

Flavor Profile

Generally lighter, honey, malt, orchard fruit. Less peated than most Scotch. Bushmills 10: light, malty, honey. Tyrconnell: delicate, fruity. Teeling pushes the category with wine-cask finishes for more complex expressions.
