RumRum

Gold / Amber / Oro Rum

Gold rum emerged as aged spirit became widely available in the 18th century Caribbean — distillers discovered that repurposed sherry, bourbon, and wine casks from Atlantic trade mellowed rough raw spirit and added complexity. The category became commercially standardized in the 20th century.

Flavor Profile

Honest gold: Sweet-Caramel dominant, light Vanilla-Oak, subtle Tropical fruit. Baked banana, toffee, light cinnamon, gentle oak roundness. Fuller body than white rum but less intensity than aged. Caramel-colored gold: identical to the white rum base — thin, clean, subtly sweet.
