Four Roses Multi-Recipe Bourbon
Four Roses' unique two-mashbill, five-yeast system was developed to create maximum flavor diversity within a single distillery. The brand was nearly destroyed when Seagram's (its former owner) converted it to blended whiskey for the American market while selling the authentic product in Japan and Europe. Kirin Brewery acquired it in 2002 and restored production integrity.
Flavor Profile
Variable by recipe selection. The most systematically transparent bourbon producer in America. B-mashbill (high rye) gives spice and structure; E-mashbill gives lighter corn-forward character. Yeast strains contribute fruity esters, spicy phenolics, herbal notes.
