Tasting Notes

Vanilla (dominant in most), cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, caramel, brown sugar, sometimes artificial sweetness. Better spiced rums show the base rum through the spice. Worse ones taste like liquid dessert with ethanol. Sailor Jerry's higher proof lets the spice cut through without cloying. Captain Morgan is defined by vanilla and caramel sweetness.
