Tasting Notes

Sloe berry, anise, tart plum, almond undertone (from sloe stones), gentle licorice, dark fruit, herbal warmth. The anise-sloe combination is unique to pacharán — tart and warm simultaneously. Deep ruby-red to garnet color. Clean, balanced finish. The anise should complement the berry, not dominate.

Brand Guide

Primary: Zoco ($18-22) — the most available commercial brand.

Premium

Etxeko ($25-30). Artisan: Navarrese homemade (not available commercially — the best pacharán is always someone's grandmother's). The DO ensures minimum quality, but the homemade tradition remains the gold standard
