Tasting Notes

Mustard seed, horseradish-like nasal heat, honey, vineyard (mustard grows in vineyards), pungent, savory, slight sweetness. The heat is in the nose, not the mouth — fundamentally different from chili. Yellow-gold color. An acquired taste that rewards the adventurous.

Brand Guide

Niche: Edmond Fallot Liqueur de Moutarde ($25-35, Burgundian). Very few other producers. DIY: mustard seed-infused vodka (achievable in-house). The category is so small that stocking it signals deep curation.

The Story

Savory, pungent, and deliberately strange. Mustard seed fermented into liqueur form.
