Tasting Notes

Intense menthol, eucalyptus, pine, anise, clove, cardamom, licorice, saffron, wormwood, mountain herbs. Overwhelming on the nose — the 130 botanicals hit simultaneously. Medicinal in the best sense. Long, warming, herbal finish that lasts minutes. Not sweet — this is the concentrated herbal extract before any sweetening.

Brand Guide

Single producer: Chartreuse Elixir Végétal ($30-40 for 100ml). No competitors exist — the Carthusian monopoly is absolute. The VEP (Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé) expressions are extended-aging Chartreuse, not Elixir alternatives. This is a category of one.

The Story

Chartreuse concentrated to medicinal intensity. The original 1605 formula, undiluted and overwhelming.
