Tasting Notes

Artichoke leaf, caramel, dark herbs, vegetal bitterness. Dark brown color. The cynarin bitterness is unique — earthy and green, not the sharp quinine or wormwood bitters of other amari. Standard Cynar is approachably sweet; 70 Proof is drier and more assertive. Finish is medium-long, pleasantly vegetal, slightly caramel.

Brand Guide

Benchmark: Cynar ($18-24, 16.5% ABV). Cocktail Strength: Cynar 70 Proof ($22-28, 35% ABV). Craft: Various carciofo amari ($22-30). Cynar owns the category — 70 Proof was their smartest line extension.
