Tasting Notes

Grappa fire, orange zest, gentian root, caramel, vanilla oak, dried herbs, rhubarb, honey, baking spices. The grappa base gives it a distinctive clean heat that other amari don't have. The finish is long, warm, and herbal with a honeyed sweetness. It's the most 'spirit-forward' amaro you'll encounter.

Brand Guide

Single brand: Amaro Nonino Quintessentia ($40-55). This is already top-shelf amaro. No well/call tier exists — you either carry Nonino or you don't. Alternative premium amari: Amaro di Angostura ($30-38), Cardamaro ($20-28). Nothing else tastes quite like Nonino.

The Story

Grappa-based amaro. Friulian elegance with fruit-forward refinement other amari lack.
